The New Approach in Premature Ejaculation Treatment

Large public and physicians should be educated that premature ejaculation is a common problem in men, even though scientists don't know the mechanisms very well, and don't understand the pathophysiology of PE completely. But the reality is that some men have very, very rapid ejaculation, a very low threshold for ejaculation, and that this can be very bothersome or troubling to both the sufferers and their partners.

Then, physicians should understand that premature ejaculation is a disease like any other one and consider it accordingly. Such as diabetes, hypertension, and many other, very common problems, premature ejaculation should be treated by a comprehensive holistic integrated approach. That means that, in addition to a specific medication, patients are receiving counseling on their diet, on their stress, on their exercise, on their lifestyles.

Sexual disorders generally, and premature ejaculation particularly, aren't as fundamentally different from many other areas of primary care or medical management in which all physicians realize that the holistic approach is really the correct way to manage the patient. If the patient receives only medication and continues to maintain an unhealthy lifestyle eating too much, exercising too little, and having too much stress, then the medications are only going to be partially effective, and over time the problems are likely to get worse.

A holistic and integrated approach to treatment in sexual medicine would be the very beneficial approach. By consequence, all persons and institutions involved in medical process must recognize and encourage this fact by providing resources, time, reimbursement and whatever is needed.
