Antioxidants and Keeping Yourself Healthy

 

In order for your body to have maximum performance vitamins and minerals need to be absorbed by your body from natural sources. One very important element of your biological health is the antioxidant.

What is an antioxidant? An antioxidant is a chemical that reduces the amount of oxidation in your body. They are also the cells that are stored in your muscles to help contain the damage that can occur with oxidation. Oxidation occurs when reactive oxygen particles form chain reactions which can cause cancer-like mutations and cell death.

An antioxidant could be made from plants. Examples of antioxidants would be beta-carotene, vitamin E and lycopene. Beta-carotene can be made from carrots! Vitamin E can be made from leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds, and lycopene from red-ripe tomatoes. It was also discovered that coffee, tea and chocolate contain antioxidants. Although these are not as affective as the antioxidants found in vegetables, there is still a lot of good antioxidants in them. That is why you need to consume foods rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidant fight the bad oxidation to your cells, and is therefore very beneficial to your cells and overall health. Antioxidants can help to prevent cancer, heart-related illnesses; supports eye health and wellness and boosts the immune system. There are also some studies that say antioxidants can combat the effects of aging! This means that it helps fight against neurological damage and also deterioration of the cells. Antioxidants are by far the best vitamins you can have. They can even help the deterioration of the brain. If you care about your health, then you will look into take antioxidants to keep you healthy. With a combination of healthy eating, exercising, and antioxidants, you will have a long healthy life. Give your body the nourishment it needs to live a long, prosperous life.
