Trust in Government; We Wish it Were That Simple

It is very important to trust your government, yet it seems as we look around the world that indeed few governments are actually trust worthy at all? Most of these nations of the world with low integrity government have citizens who know they cannot trust their own government.

In the United States of America we have one of the most trustworthy governments in the world, yet consider that we have so many scandals. This is because what is normal business in other countries we do not accept as citizens in America.

Isnt it interesting we complain about our government so much in the United States, when indeed it is probably one of the best and most honest governments in the World? It is not that our government is so bad as governments go, it is that we entirely hold them to a higher standard and when we see kick-backs, bribes and underhanded deals we seem to get very upset almost to the point of wanting to immediately throw out of office all the politicians.

Yet if you consider past politicians who we now in hindsight and customized history hold in such high esteem, well perhaps they indeed were no different than the current levels of corruption? And maybe those past notable political figures of such high stature were scoundrels in reality, yet we have re-written history to make them ten-foot tall? So, perhaps you will consider all this in 2006.
