Car Maintenance Tips

Here we've pulled together some tips about making car maintenance an easier task.

" You should get to know your car better by reading the owner's manual provided by the manufacturer of your car.
" Use original parts in your car if you happen to replace any during maintenance.
" Regular oil changes have to be done to keep the engine efficient and in good shape.
" You should always look for the strange smells and sounds in your car and while driving which may give you some clues about the forthcoming problems that you will be facing.
" Water trapped under the carpets might emanate musty odors. Remove such carpets and dry them up.
" If you happen to get some smoky smells, it might be due to electrical faults. These have to be attended by professionals.
" Choking of fuel tank vents and fuel overflow might give fuel smells.
" Burning rubber smells indicate that you are driving your car with brakes on or the car's tires are overheated.
" Change engine oils every 3000 miles.
" Transmission fluid, engine oil, and fuels are to be checked regularly.
" Rotate the tires every 10000 km since they wear out unevenly.
" Stone and gravel stuck to the tires are also to be removed regularly.
" Brake fluids have to be topped up or changed when the car reacts wobbly.
" The level of distilled water in the battery is to be maintained at proper levels as recommended.
" Vacuuming the floor surface of the car regularly is essential to keep it from being damaged by sand, dust, or salt.
" Leather cleaning products are available in the market for cleaning leather interiors.

If possible, always strive for preventive maintenance rather than solving the problem after it occurs. Not only will it be less of a headache, you will save on costs too!
